Of a population of 4300 individuals in 1988 in Kenya, we counted no more than 2000 in 2007. Estimated at 1900 individuals in 1980 in Ethiopia, they were only 128 in 2006.
We estimate the total population of Grevy's zebras on the planet at approximately 1000 specimens today.
